Target Opening in Liberty Hill
Target Is Opening in Liberty Hill on October 6 at Noon
The date has been updated: Target at Liberty Hill Crossing opens its doors for the first time on Monday, October 6, 2026 at noon. That is the soft opening. The official grand opening follows on October 12. If you have been watching the construction go up along US 183 for the past year, the wait is just about over.
Earlier reports had the opening pegged for October 11, but the actual soft open comes sooner. Whether you plan to be there the first day or want to wait for the grand opening fanfare on the 12th, here is everything confirmed about Liberty Hill's first Target.
What Is Inside the Liberty Hill Target
At 148,000 square feet, this is one of the larger Target stores in Texas. It is a full-size location with the full lineup of departments, plus several in-store amenities that make it a genuine one-stop stop for this community rather than a smaller-format convenience store.
If you are planning to be there for the soft opening on October 6 at noon, expect it to be busy. A Target opening in a community this size is a genuine event. The grand opening on October 12 will likely include additional promotions and activities, so that is worth putting on the calendar too.
Why This Opening Matters for Liberty Hill
- ►Liberty Hill residents have driven to Cedar Park or Georgetown for a Target for years. That changes Monday, October 6.
- ►The 148,000 square foot store is one of the largest in the state, sized for a community that is expected to keep growing, not the population Liberty Hill has today
- ►Combined with the Costco that opened earlier this year, Liberty Hill now has two of the most-requested big-box retailers in the country within a few miles of each other
- ►Major retailers follow rooftops and income. Target choosing Liberty Hill is a validation of where this community is headed, and it will attract additional retail development around it
- ►For buyers considering a move to Liberty Hill, the retail question gets shorter by one item. The conversation has shifted from "what does Liberty Hill not have yet?" to "what has Liberty Hill added this year?"
- ►Liberty Hill Crossing, the shopping center where Target is anchoring, will continue to fill in around it, adding to an already growing retail corridor along US 183
How to Get There
The Target is located at 351 N. US Highway 183 in Liberty Hill, inside Liberty Hill Crossing. If you are coming from the 183A toll road, exit onto US 183 northbound and the store will be on your right. The parking lot is set up for both standard parking and drive-up order pickup.
If you are coming from Leander or Cedar Park, take 183A north to the Liberty Hill area and follow US 183 north into town. From Georgetown, take Ronald Reagan Boulevard west to connect to US 183 south into Liberty Hill.
I have been working in this market for years, and the question I hear most consistently from buyers considering Liberty Hill is some version of: "but what is out there?" Meaning, is there enough retail, enough restaurants, enough everyday convenience to make this feel like a real place and not just a far suburb where you have to drive 30 minutes for anything?
That question has been getting easier to answer every year, and Target opening on October 6 makes it easier still. Between Costco, Target, Parker's Mercantile downtown, the restaurant scene that has developed along Whitewing, and the 183A that gets you to northwest Austin in under 40 minutes, Liberty Hill is no longer a bet on future growth. It is a community with real amenities today and more on the way.
If you have been on the fence about making a move out here, this would be a good time to have that conversation. I am happy to walk you through what the market looks like right now and what your options are whether you are buying, selling, or just exploring.
